Luxopuncture has only recently been introduced to the UK, although there are practitioners in many other parts of the world. Based on acupuncture and auriculotherapy principles, Luxopuncture stimulates pressure points by the means of an infrared beam as opposed to needles.
Using the infrared beam of the Luxo machine
The objective of Luxopuncture is to re-balance the body’s function, in particular the digestive, lymphatic and hormonal systems. It is all natural and extremely effective! In particular, Luxopuncture helps with weight-loss, menopause, stress and stopping smoking.
The LUXO® infrared beam
The energy generated by the infrared beam LUXO® is transferred to the nerve endings of pressure points. This energetic stimulation affects the vegetative nervous system and aims at rebalancing the way the hormonal system functions, which will in turn helps reach a level of wellbeing lost over the years due to lifestyle pressures such as stress, bad eating habits, tiredness, smoking etc…
Four essential hormones
Luxopuncture can help with weight loss
Our behaviour is affected by four essential hormones: the serotonin, the dopamine, the melatonin and the endorphins. Incorrect levels of these hormones are thought to be responsible for certain disorders such as eating habits, tobacco dependence, anxiety and sleeping issues. By re-balancing the levels of these hormones, Luxopuncture aims to eliminate or considerably reduce these disorders.
The Serotonin: This is the “happy” hormone. It influences our mood and our appetite. Studies have shown that eating chocolate or sugar increases level of serotonin in our body and it is thought that the level of serotonin is lower in depressed individuals.
The Endorphins: These bring satisfaction, calm and serenity which helps with stress, anxiety and sleep.
The Dopamine: This hormone is linked to compulsive behaviours.
The Melatonin: This hormone plays a fundamental role in the sleep cycle.
Prior to any treatment, there is a free initial consultation. This gives you the opportunity to discover the principals and the benefits of the LUXO® treatments, to discuss your health and to agree on a treatment plan should you decide to go ahead with treatment. Each treatment differs in terms of pressure points and in duration.
The history of Luxopuncture
As for the history; the LUXO® concept was created in the 90’s in France and has gain great popularity over the past 20 years. More recently, LUXO®’s reputation has travelled beyond its national boundaries and you can now find practitioners in many countries around the world.
The LUXOpuncture Clinic
Anne Claydon, LUXO® practitioner
The LUXOpuncture Clinic, which opened its doors in Colchester in November 2017, is the first LUXO® centre to open in the UK. Anne, the LUXO® practitioner at the LUXOpuncture Clinic, is very excited to bring this new alternative therapy to the UK and is enjoying making a difference to people’s lives. She has greatly benefited from the therapy herself: she lost more than 10 kilos in two months whilst feeling energised, relax, rested and at peace with myself. Anne says: “Not only had I got back to my weight when I was 18 year old, I sincerely could not remember the last time I experienced such well being.” Read her story and some of her clients’ testimonials at www.luxopunctureclinic.co.uk
