What is Co-active Coaching? Let’s imagine for one moment…………… Imagine a relationship Where the total focus is on YOU Where YOU are accompanied on each step of your journey To create what YOU want in your life.
“Let’s spend some time together, immersed in truth and inspired by dreams”
Coaching motivates, incites, encourages and sometimes demands clients be powerful and true to themselves. The relationship between coach and client is highly dynamic and requires active and collaborative participation of both the client and the coach.
It takes place in a context of 100% confidentiality and commitment. The resulting shifts toward personal fulfilment are directly proportional to the client’s dedication to the process, i.e. what you put in is what you get out.
Try this at home: Getting the balance you want
An important aspect of coaching is achieving the life-balance that is right for you. Have a look at this wheel. Look at each topic and ask yourself: “How satisfied am I right now with this area of my life?” on a scale of 1 (not at all) to 10 (totally satisfied). Now draw a line across each segment representing your score, with the centre of the wheel as 0 and the outer edge being 10. If you feel an important area of your life is not represented, change the name of a segment or split one into two.
On a piece of paper, write your scores and any comments that come to mind.
Now get curious about what you see.
Ask yourself some questions
Within the tool bag of coaching are powerful, open-ended questions. A powerful question evokes clarity, action, discovery, insight or commitment. It gives greater possibility, new learning or clearer vision.
I have included some below that are designed to inspire you, stimulate your thinking and unlock your knowing. There are no right or wrong ways to answer. Take some quiet time to be with the questions and to allow your responses to emerge clearly from within.
If life were as good as it could possible get what would it be like?
And who would you have become?
Look forward 20 years … you are attending a function where someone is giving a speech about YOU! What would you want them to say?
What do you want more of / less of in your life?
What, to you, is success? If you had an image of success what would it be?
If time and resources were not a concern, describe the things you long to do
What are your excuses or potential obstacles to your goals/desires?
What would you do if you weren’t scared?

Is coaching for everybody?……. ‘No!’
Coaching operates from the premise that the client is creative, resourceful and whole. It is not psychotherapy, nor is it counselling, business consultancy or any other professional advice.
Coaching is for people who are ready to commit to lasting change. It is for those people who are willing to take a truthful, unflinching look at where they are and where they really want to go.
