Cranial Osteopathy is a very gentle type of osteopathic treatment which is aimed at helping the body function better as well as helping patients find relief from specific symptoms.
During training, osteopaths are taught a variety of treatment methods and techniques. Some specialise in certain aspects such as cranial osteopathy whereas others may focus on the more well known firmer body adjustments.
Most of us have been subject to physical trauma at some stage, and cranial osteopaths are trained to feel the sometimes very subtle changes in body tissue that may be creating problems but which manifest in other areas. For example, someone suffering from severe headaches may have had an accident in their childhood which has left damage which doesn’t show any symptons at the time but manifests in a seeemingly unrelated manner several years later.
Most patients find cranial osteopathic treatments expremely relaxing as if all tensions are being gradually drawn out from the body.
