Community Energy South was established in 2013 with the aim of growing and stimulating local ownership of Community Energy. Many community projects have been successfully launched across the south of the country and the organisation is now looking to support more community energy groups in south-east England.
As well as Community Energy South, there are a number of community clusters across the country. If you do not live or work in Essex, CLICK HERE to find clusters and projects near you.
As part of its commitment to take action on climate change, Essex County Council has teamed up with Community Energy South to provide support for local communities to develop renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
This is an exciting new, county-wide initiative to help our communities to take action on the climate crisis and Community Energy South is currently contacting local groups and individuals in Essex to get an understanding of any community-led renewable energy and energy efficiency projects that may already be in place. These may include projects that support, generate, own or manage renewable energy installations in our communities and/or reduce energy consumption.
They also want to hear about ideas for new projects and find the best ways to support new projects and groups going forward.
If you are based in Essex and are interested or involved in energy, environmental or climate change issues please complete the project survey. The information will be used to develop a range of resources, business development support, funding and networking opportunities to help develop local renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
If you would like a copy of the full project brief or have questions please drop Community Energy South’s Project Manager a line.
