Emma Willis on how to get in sumptuous shape for your summer holiday
As part of her collaboration with Next, TV presenter, former model and stylish mum Emma Willis recently flew out to Marrakech to pick her edit from Next’s beautiful summer collection. Emma wasn’t just there to pinpoint her favourite pieces from the new range though – she chatted about how she keeps fit before heading off into the sun!
How does Emma keep in shape?
“I work my butt off in the gym”
Emma is a keen bean in the gym, but have no fear if you haven’t stepped foot in yours for some time! Follow a simple, general routine that encompasses cardiovascular exercise and weights that you’ll be able to build up to a more intense level in the month before you jet off. If you’re in need of a more structured programme then a personal trainer may be the answer – Ramis Health and Fitness based in Westcliff near Southend offer private one-to-one classes to help you to reach your key goals.
What about if you’re on a budget though? There are heaps of helpful exercises online that can help you to get in shape, so just pin that poster of a glorious sunset on your living room wall for inspo and get exercising!
“I box”
Want to ramp up your exercise even further? Emma has you covered with her next tip – boxing. Emma dons her gloves to add a different element to her workout, and you can too! It’s a wonderful way to get your entire body working, which will aid your agility and movement. You don’t have to get in the ring either… Boxercise classes are available across Essex, so get down to your nearest class now!
“I go to pilates”
A key reason why Emma’s abs look ah-mazing is her core strength, which is no doubt helped by the fact she’s a pilates fan. Going to pilates also boosts your flexibility if you’re desperate to showcase your diving skills in the pool when summer comes around. Prime Pilates in Thundersley offers classes for all different ages and abilities, or alternatively there are numerous coaching videos online for how you can obtain those killer abs from the safety of your own home!
“I try to curb my sugar addiction – true fact!”
While Emma may have her workout down to a tee, she also stresses the importance of your diet to nail that perfect beach bod. Reduction of sugar intake is key for her, and if you can bust your lust for chocolate bars and other sugary treats (or at least try to keep them at a minimum – we know you’re only human!), then it will complement your workout beautifully.
There you have it, follow Emma’s tips and you should be in perfect shape to make the most of that big summer holiday.
