Illustrated Talk: Transforming Lives Through Wild Spaces – Great Baddow
This event at the United Reformed Church in Great Baddow has been organised by the Chelmsford Local EWT Group. Jo Roberts, CEO of Wilderness Foundation, will talk about its work, both in Essex and further afield, and describe how the charity has become a leader in the use of wild spaces to help transform vulnerable people’s lives. (This charity was one of seven chosen by Prince Harry and Megan Markle to receive donations in place of wedding gifts).

Illustrated Talk: Estuary Wildlife, Landscapes and Habitats of Essex and Suffolk
This event, which is suitable for all ages, has been organised by the Chelmsford Local EWT Group. Alex Bass will show us a range of wildlife and habitats including the Colne & Blackwater, Heybridge Basin & Hamford Water, the Alde: Snape Maltings & Iken Cliffs, the Deben, Blyth and SWT Hen Reedbeds reserve.

Illustrated Talk: the Essex weasel family – Chelmsford
This event is organised by the Chelmsford EWT local group. Darren Tansley, EWT River Catchment Coordinator, shines a light from the 1500s to the present day on the changing fortunes, folklore and ecology of these animals and their prey. From the tiny weasel to the elegant pine marten, we'll uncover new information and discoveries from countryside to coast. Warning - this presentation contains a smattering of vole plague! Nick Lindsay, former Senior Curator from the Zoological Society of London, will outline the tools and mechanisms that have been developed to enable zoos to contribute to wildlife conservation. He will also draw on personal experiences to demonstrate some wildlife reintroduction successes in various countries.

Illustrated Talk – Living Seas – Chelmsford
An illustrated talk by Rachel Langley about the Living Seas. This event is organised by the Chelmsford Local EWT group and the talk is preceded by a short AGM. Rachel is EWT Living Seas Coordinator for the Living Seas project. She will give an insight into Essex’s marine, coastal and intertidal wildlife and the challenges it faces, as well as showcasing Essex Wildlife Trust’s marine conservation projects.

Illustrated Talk: Beekeeping – Chlemsford
The Chelmsford Local EWT Group has arranged this illustrated talk on beekeeping by local man Ian Grant from the Chelmsford Bee Keepers Association. Ian has been keeping bees for 15 years and will explain the history of beekeeping, life in the hive and the production of honey. Bees are essential pollinators, and the craft of beekeeping goes back thousands of years.
