WellbeingMatters mental health peer support group – Southend monthly meeting for those in the workplace

4th December 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

WellbeingMatters mental health peer support group.

Monthly meeting in Southend for employees and employers

Our monthly WellbeingMatters monthly peer group meetings are incredibly important for supporting those who have mental health issues and are/or not functioning in the workplace. Also, for those who are looking to return to work.

Our meetings provide a welcoming, informal, safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment for like-minded people to share and listen to each other’s experiences. We encourage those who find it daunting to attend on their own for the first time, to bring along someone from within their support network whoever they might be, manager, colleague, relative, friend, support worker, acquaintance and so forth. It is also an opportunity for those who provide support to gain a better understanding of what it is like to live with a mental illness.

Talking about mental illness is hugely important in breaking down the shame and stigmas associated with it. Without the right peer support networks in place, employees can become at risk of their mental health affecting their ability to work, and employers risk losing valuable, experienced staff.
