This summers waders walk at The Naze is potentially the most spectacular “birdie” walk of the year.
This is a rare chance to see the wading birds as they return from their arctic breeding grounds, many will still be in their summer plumage. This walk follows the sea wall as the tide is rising, to give a good chance of seeing wading birds at relatively close range, feeding on the salt marsh and mud flats.
The walk will take about 2½ hours and is about 3 miles in length. The path and sea wall are uneven and very muddy in places. Please wear suitable footwear and appropriate clothing, bring some water and don’t forget your binoculars.
Please note that wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
