Five beautiful gardens are included in the Langley Village Open Gardens, which is also part of the NGS.
April Cottage
A charming thatched cottage with a colourful, established garden with many unusual plants. Enjoy old fashioned roses, cleamtis, wildlife and ornamental ponds, a damp garden and a hosta collection.
The Chestnuts
The planting beds were designed and installed by Tristen Knight, RHS Young Designer 2012. They feature reclaimed sleeper jetty, herbacious borders and a yorkstone waterfall. Meadow with mature oak trees and a newly planted hornbeam avenue.
Wickets
Wickets has wide, mixed borders, two landscaped meadows, a lily pond, parterre, shepherd’s hut and gravel garden with wonderful views over rolling Essex countryside
Old Bell Cottage
A cottage garden, successfully incorporating part of a former field, with various herbaceous beds stocked with spring bulbs, alliums, lupins and delphiniums.
Greenhouse, patio area and cabinets for hardening off. Raised beds for vegetables and in fruit cage, to overcome lack of drainage in lower garden.
There is also a sunken BBQ area and a natural pond.
