These courses are designed for adults working with children and young people in an outdoor setting. You will develop skills suitable for children that can be used in Forest School or other outdoor learning sessions
This course is run by Essex Wildlife Trust Outdoor Learning team and located at the beautiful Abbotts Hall Farm, which has woodland, meadows, gardens and two working forest school sites.
We will explore the following:
Varieties of tinder and kindling
Wood types and how they burn
Preparing wood for a fire
Laying different types of fire
Different ways to cook over the fire
LEARN HOW TO PREPARE AND COOK GAME
Lots of different cooking ideas
Food hygiene
Discuss cooking ideas and experiences over a fire

A hot lunch, cooked over the fire, is included in the price.
