Boreham is a delightful village near Chelmsford. Four stunning but quite different gardens are open during this weekend.

Brookfield

Bob and Lynda Taylor are providing home made cakes and cream teas in their 3.5 acre garden.

A rose covered wall and perennial border is the starting point for the garden, with several other perennial island beds, a pond with a shrub bank, orchard and vegetable garden with raised beds. There is also a delightful landscaped meadow bordered by trees and including a woodland walk.

Caynton Cottage

This is a new garden that was a neglected and overgrown plot surrounding a 15th century thatched cottage (not open.) Les and Lynn Mann started to develop the garden in 2013 and it continues to change and develop. There is a good selection of shrubs and a small wildlife pond and dry stream.

Monalee

As well as an evolving garden with a wide variety of shrubs, trees and perennials, there are many features including an oriental garden, cut flower bed, enclosed and secluded patio and summer house. Owners Andrew and Debora Overington also invite you to meet their free range chickens and resident heron.

17 Fitzwalter Road

A small family garden in a modern style, but with lovely cottage style planting. Owners Lee and Marston have used scaffold boards to erect decking and raised beds to prevent the area flooding and keep the flowers safe from the family dogs.
