All Day Walk: Wallasea Island

Join the Brentwood and Billericay Local EWT Group for a visit to this outstanding RSPB site on the Crouch/ Roach estuaries.
Extensive remodelling has transformed former arable farmland into a vast wetland, containing salt-marsh, pools, scrapes and reed-beds.
Breeding waders include avocet, redshank and lapwing, plus corn bunting, marsh harrier, hares, seals and an interesting range of insect life.
meet at the car park beyond Grapnells at the end of the approach road fro Canewdon, SS4 2HD.
All walks open to non-members.
Please note there are no onsite facilities – however there is a Marina with a cafe quite local to the area.
