Join Ruth from Forest Clouds – Nature Therapy, for a special Christmas forest forest bathing session at Belfairs.
Take some time out for yourself after all the Christmas shopping and immerse yourself in natural surroundings away from the madness!
“Shinrin-Yoku”” or forest bathing is the practice of spending time in the forest for better health, happiness and a sense of calm. It is usually a slow and sensory walk through the forest and has been a preventative medicine since the 1980’s when the Japanese Forest Agency suggested the practice as a way to reconnect with nature using mindfulness, meditation, breathing and walking exercises.
Research has proven that spending time around trees can reduce blood pressure, lower stress, boost energy and boost the immune system.
(Please ensure you wear comfortable clothing and footwear, this is a slow walk and can get colder than on a normal pace walk if the weather is cold or wet. Layers are a good idea, and bring waterproofs if rain is likely. Highly recommend hats and scarfs for winter forest bathing!)
This session is for adults and older children only.
Those with mobility issues feel free to call the centre to discuss.
