With the ever increasing cost of our electricity supplies, and the infinite resources that are being used to power these supplies, consumers are becomingly increasingly aware of reducing usage.
There is now an easy way for Southend residents to find out exactly how much each of there appliances are using. Do you know, for example, how much it costs to boil a kettle? Electricity Cost Meters are now being made available at libraries throughout the borough. You will be able to borrow them as easily as you do a book or a DVD.
If you would like to find out more about this and other ways you can save energy and recycle, do go along to the displays organised by Southend Borough Council on the 5th and 6th June in Southend High Street. See our Events section for more information. p>
