Nearly a quarter of a million Britons take the anti-smoking drug Champix. Should they continue when the FDA has now announced that it looks ‘increasingly likely’ that there is a connection between this drug and serious psychiatric problems?
It emerged in December that seven deaths in Britain were thought to be linked to the pill. Reports to the MHRA of adverse reactions have risen by 35% in just the past seven weeks.
There are no plans to ban the drug, but it is suggested that any users who develop suicidal thoughts should stop their treatment and contact their doctor.Â
If you, or anyone you know, is taking Champix – BEWARE!!
