Young Minds Inspiring Health Research

- Are you a young person living in the Colchester/Tendring area with an interest in helping to plan mental health research for the future?
Or are you a researcher, or working for a health, public health, or community interest organisation, with an interest in mental health research?
Join a creative, informal evening of open and honest discussion about health and well-being with young people, researchers and local community public health interest groups. Health researchers in the region are working to develop new treatments and care for children’s and young people’s mental health conditions but they need your help to design more relevant and innovative research.
You could:
- Shape research priorities for the future by sharing your experiences and promoting the voice of young people in research
- Help collaborate in designing more creative, relevant and interesting research for young people
- View displays and listen to young people expressing what matters to them as presented by local young people and community partners including: Young Art Kommunity
- Firstsite, Refugee Action Colchester, Friends Not Foes, Essex Council for Voluntary Youth Services and the Junior Ambassadors project Tendring District Council
- Find out about what research is already happening and meet some of the researchers and community in our region.
- Explore the different ways young people can have a voice and get involved in influencing health research in our region
If you have a creative work or project related to the health and wellbeing of young people in North Essex would be happy for it to be included in the exhibition please do bring it along!
Food and refreshments will also be available, and if you’re aged 18-25 you could be eligible for 1 of 20 x £5 travel vouchers. They’re available on a first come, first served basis so email tracey.johns@nihr.ac.uk to apply.
