Waltham Abbey Group Open Gardens

9th September 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Waltham Abbey is an historic town near Epping Forest. The Abbey is purported to be the last resting place of King Harold.

This group comprises 3 gardens:

39 Halfhides

Chris Hamer’s garden has evolved over 50 years. It features mixed shrubs and perennial borders on two levels, with a waterfall linking two ponds. Alpines thrive on scree and in troughs, and a shady garden features ferns and other shade loving plants.

Silver Birches

Linda and Fran Jewson are providing home made teas.

A secluded garden with three lawns on two levels. Plenty of colour in mixed borders, with many mature shrubs and trees creating a short woodland walk.

Crystal clear water trickles through a shady area of the garden.

76 Monkswood Avenue

Cathy Gallagher has created a plantswoman’s garden designed for all year round colour. Mixed borders filled with specimen trees, perennials and pots. There is also a wildlife pond and plenty of attractive seating areas.
