Walk – Old Hall Marshes Nature Reserve, Tollesbury, nr Maldon

17th February 2018 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm

Join us at Old Hall Marshes where OHM Site Manager Kieren Alexander will lead this healthy 3 hour walk.
Old Hall Marshes is surrounded by the Blackwater estuary and is one of the largest areas of ancient coastal grazing marsh in Essex. The winter is an ideal time of year to see a wide variety of birds such as: brent Geese, wigeon and teal. Out on the estuary diving ducks including the red breasted merganser and goldeneye inhabit the area while marsh harriers, short eared owls and peregrines patrol the skies.

Please note that although we’ll mostly be using public footpaths, these can be muddy and rutted, so please bring appropriate footware. The marshes are exposed and wild so bring warm clothes including hats and gloves.

Event run by an RSPB volunteer group.
