Paranormal Event Colchester, Essex | Ghost Hunt | Essex

22nd April 2022 @ 8:30 pm - 11:00 pm

DESCRIPTION
Another fantastic chance to investigate this venue given to you by The Essex Spiritual Centre.
This is not a Ghost Hunt where you are lead around with machines. This is a Paranormal Investigation where YOU are part of a team! YOU will guide the investigation and communicate with past life in a small group. YOU will become a historian and delve in to the darkest secrets of this Historical Town Hall.
The Town Hall is situated within a short distance of 3 of Essex most haunted buildings! Yet the Town Hall is crying out for a thorough investigation. With mediums and Clairvoyance my events DO NOT allow or need Ouija Boards, we use our gifts to communicate and research. Many hauntings have occurred here and staff have witnessed so many strange occurrences with in the building. So let’s find out who and why they remain! With such a historic presence and so many years of history this location will not fail to impress or prove paranormal activity.
As investigators you will have access to behind the scenes under street tunnel, court room, jury room, major chambers, back stairwells, basement storage tunnels and much much more! These areas are not normally open to visitors. You will be supplied tools and maps! Debrief of all the groups coming together at the end to discuss our findings over tea/coffee/hot chocolate.
Other events here are not like my Investigations in that we don’t really on gimmicks or Ouija Boards to talk, we talk and then this can be followed up by you the team! Cameras, recordings and paranormal equipment promoted but ultimately each group has at least 1 medium!
We have a vast area to investigate within the Town Hall, up windy stairs and onto various floors. Lift facilities available. Parts of the building are not heated. Suitable clothing and footwear needed. We will encounter at some point some terrifying activity so be prepared!
History
The Town Hall site has been the focus of civic duties for more than 800 years. Colchester’s first Town Hall, called the Moot Hall was built in 1160. The second Town Hall was built in 1844 and was a three-storey structure with a stone faced front.
John Belcher designed the present Town Hall, which was chosen after a competition in 1897. Building work began in 1898 and the building was opened by the Earl of Rosebery.
Building Features: The building design is Baroque. The 162ft Victorian tower was presented by industrialist James Paxman with a statue at the top of St Helena, Colchester’s patron saint.
The Moot Hall houses a custom built organ by Norman and Beard.
The Old Library function room, originally Colchester’s first town centre public library was designed by Brightwen Binyon of Ipswich in 1894.
The Council Chambers has a glorious painted ceiling showing a classical description of the twelve months of the year and the two stained glass windows depicting the Roman history of the Borough.
Building work began in 1898 and the building was opened by Prime Minister Lord Rosebery in May 1902.
