This 20-acre garden is described as a plantsman’s paradise and was recommended in Great British Gardens 2016 and Essex Days Out.
The gardens have been professionally designed by owner Fiona Edmond. There are a host of unusual plants that thrive in the garden’s microclimate created by extensive woodland.
The gardens include many themed areas such as a terrace, Japenese garden, huge island beds, gravel garden, seaside garden and water gardens.
Bluebells, azaleas, acers and rhododendrons start in May; the water gardens and island beds provide interest throughout the year; with stunning autumnal hues in October and November.
There is also a large nursery with many plants for sale including shrubs, herbaceous plants , bulbs and ornamental trees.
The tea room includes a photographic exhibition of wildlife photographs taken by Fiona’s parents all around the world.
