One of the easiest ways to increase your fitness levels
Cycling can certainly be one of the easiest forms of exercise to build in to your daily routine. And as well as helping increase your fitness levels, it could also save you money and reduce your environmental footprint. What’s not to like!?
Cycling is also a low-impact form of exercise so it is easier on your joints than running and other high-impact aerobic activities. To really benefit, aim to build at least 150 minutes of cycling in to your routine each week. And don’t forget to ensure you there are periods when you are really pushing your limits and getting that heart pumping.
Many local authorites have installed cycling lanes and many also offer free or reduced price training. Safety is of course always of primary importance so do maintain your bike properly, wear appropriate equipment and respect the rules of the road. Always be wary of riding on the inner side of larger vehicles; the driver’s vision may be obscured and he may not even realise you are there.
