A government funded report says that we should cut down on meat and meat products consumed in order to reduce the effects of climate change. There is a suggestion that meat and milk products may even need to be rationed in the future.
Livestock and the soil used to grow feed accounts for about 8% of Britain’s greenhouse gas emissions. Many people are already changing to vegetarianism, often for moral reasons. But if you feel you can’t do without meat, why not try having one or two meat- free meals a week. There are some wonderfully tasty vegetarian recipes. I know many meat lovers who are more than happy to experiment with veggie recipes when they eat out, although they would not have considered it at home. Why not give it a try?
