The Great British Spring Clean – Beach Clean at The Naze – The Naze Visitor Centre

3rd March 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Marine pollution is a major problem for our seas today. Every year hundreds of species eat and become entangled in rubbish and nets. Plastic debris in coastal areas remains in marine ecosystems for centuries! But we can help! People from all over the country are taking part in the Great British Spring Clean between 2-4 March 2018. We’re cleaning up one of our own amazing beaches and using the Marine Conservation Society Beachwatch methodology, we’ll also survey an area to help identify different pollution along the Essex coast.

We will meet at The Naze Visitor Centre at 2pm for a quick brief and to collect our equipment. We will then take a 15 minute walk to the section that we will be cleaning up.
Wellies or sturdy boots are recommended. 5pm finish is an approximation, please contact 01621 862976 for more information.
There will be tea, coffee and biscuits provided afterwards.

Event suitable for all ages.

Please email coastalwarden@essexwt.org.uk if you plan to join us. Please include the name of each person attending, the number in your party and a contact phone number. This will help us organise the equipment and let you know if the event has been cancelled due to bad weather.
