Two people show how Asperger Syndrome affects their lives
Danielle Jacobs shares a powerful video on her youtube channel showing what a ‘meltdown’ looks like and how her dog Samson helped to calm her down. Not to be confused with a tantrum or bad behaviour, meltdowns typically occur as a response to feeling overwhelmed. This is also known as ‘sensory overload.’
Louis Morel, a young adult with Asperger Syndrome, has made an animated short describing what Asperger’s is and what his sensory overload feels like:
“I’m inhumanly good at self intelligence tests, but every time I leave the house or see a new human being I get overloaded with all the information that is there.”
