A new scheme is today being introduced by the government to encourage home owners to scrap their energy guzzling inefficient G rated boilers in exchange for modern A-rated boilers or a renewable heating system.
From today, 125,000 households in England will be able to apply through the Energy Saving Trust for a voucher which will save them £400 off a new boiler as part of this scrappage scheme.
The Government’s Scrappage scheme is intended to:
- Help sustain work for the 130,000 installers and over 25 UK-based boiler manufacturers throughout the economic recovery.
- Save householders between £200 and £235 per year,
- Reduce carbon emissions: if 125,000 efficient replacement boilers were installed, this would be the equivalent of taking 45,000 cars off the road.
To find out more about the scheme and to register, visit the Energy Saving Trust’s website or call the advice line on 0800 512 012.
