Maintenance works to our water main are often a necessity. When a new main was needed to re-inforce the water supply to Thorpe Bay, Shoeburyness and surrounding areas, it caused quite a lot of disruption along Eastern Avenue towards Thorpe Bay.
The council ensured as many trees as possble were protected from possible damage but, nonetheless, several had to be removed. It is reassuring to see that forty trees are now going to be replaced and provide a green belt of trees in the area. This sort of planting forms ideal wildlife corridors and helps to maintain the biodiversity of the area.
