South Essex Homes is one of the main providers of social housing in the area and they have now set a great example by installing solar photo voltaic panels in three of their sheltered housing schemes: Longmans, in Shoeburyness, Scott House in Eastwood and Nestuda House in Leigh.
The panels will help supply power to the communal areas of the schemes. The project was part funded by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and also a 50% grant through Phase 2 of the Low carbon Buildings Programme.
