A brilliant opportunity for 13-17 year olds to volunteer and gain practical conservation experience. The event is held at the Abberton Reservoir Nature Reserve on the first Saturday of every moth except for August.
Young Rangers is a volunteer conservation group specifically for 13-17 year olds. It is designed for teenagers looking to gain practical conservation and survey experience either for their Duke of Edinburgh award or to help them towards a career in the conservation sector.
Past tasks include hedge trimming, tree planting, pond and flower surveys, coppicing willow and so much more!
Children do not need to be accompanied by an adult as long as a drop-off form has been completed. They will need to have sensible footwear and clothing as we go out in all weathers and bring a pack lunch.
There is no cost but spaces are limited so booking is essential.
