Cymatics, the 'Sound Way' to better health - Review
Dorinda Tracey has, like all experienced complementary therapists, a holistic approach to healing the body. She also knows that science plays its role and finds that her “magic white box”, as many of her clients call it, is extremely useful in treating a whole kaleidoscope of conditions, giving particularly good results for sports injuries, bone joint and soft tissue problems.
Dorinda’s mother is a testament to the effects of the treatment – a sprightly lady in her seventies, she recently fractured her arm and doctors said her old bones would not set very well and she would lose a lot of movement. Not so once Dorinda set to work with her machine!
The therapy is actually called Cymatics and the “magic white box” is the control panel. The theory is that every cell in the body resonates at a particular frequency which takes the form of a magnetic field. Groups of cells in an organ or system have multiple frequency patterns which are unique. This frequency may change or become distorted when affected by illness. The Cymatics machine was developed in the Sixties as the means in which healthy frequencies can be introduced to re-balance the whole body and provide an environment where the body cures itself. The treatment has connections with the principles of acupuncture, and also homoeopathy which relies on energy flow and imprinting of frequencies on aqueous solutions.
Dorinda used the therapy on an itchy rash that had appeared on my leg. A huge variety of applicators can be attached to the control box, and settings are changed according to the problem and the application area. Firstly, Dorinda used a small applicator on my neck and then my chest in order to deal any problem holistically, and then used a larger applicator on the actual problem area. The slight vibration and persistent hum, which altered as she changed frequencies, felt quite pleasant. At the end of the first session the area was much less inflamed and no longer itching. What a relief!
Cymatics is said to be totally safe and can be used by anyone including pregnant women. Dorinda has now added to her range of accessories and can offer even more treatments.
